Adornos para pajitas - Adornments for straws

Ahora que ha llegado el Verano, es el tiempo perfecto para tomar zumos naturales, siropes, limonadas, horchatas... Para que nuestros vasos sean divertidos, utilizando papeles de diferentes colores y pegatinas, he hecho adornos para las pajitas. Esta es la foto de los adornos y después con los vasos.

Now that Summer is here, it is the perfect time to drink natural juices, syrups, lemonades, tiger nut milk drinks... In order that our glasses are funny, using papers of different colors and stickers, I have done some adornments for the straws. This one is the photo of the adornments and later with the glasses.

Cojines con yute - Cushions with jute

Con la ayuda de mi madre, he confeccionado un par de cojines de tejido de yute. Primero, he cogido un cuadrado de tela de yute de 35 cm de largo x 37 cm de ancho. He cosido con lana de colores un dibujo inspirado en personajes del Salvaje Oeste Americano. Después he cosido una cinta roja de lazo alrededor de 3,5 cm de ancho y por último he cosido en el revés una tela verde clara de algodón. He metido el relleno del cojín y he puesto unos cierres. Estos son nuestros cojines de yute para el Verano.

With the help of my mother, I have made a couple of cushions of fabric of jute. Firstly, I have taken a square of fabric of jute of 35 cm of length x 37 cm of width. I have sewed using some wool of colors a drawing inspired by characters of the American Far West. Later I have sewed a red tape of ribbon of 3,5 cm of width all around it and finally I have sewed in the reverse a green clear fabric of cotton. I have put the padding of the cushion and I have put a few closings. These are our cushions of jute for the Summer.

Mi frutero para el Verano - My fruit basket for Summer time

En Verano, hay frutas deliciosas para comer, con algunas de mis favoritas he preparado mi frutero para este tiempo caluroso. Entre ellas, en sentido de las agujas del reloj están: las Cerezas, los Albaricoques, los Paraguayos y los Nísperos. ¿Quién se puede resistir a probar estas golosinas tan naturales?

He reusado algunos restos de jabones de baño para utilizarlos como ambientador para cajones. Solo he recopilado algunos y los he metido en una bolsa de organza. Después los he puesto entre algunas toallas en el interior del cajón, así desprenden un agradable aroma.

I have reused some rests of bath's soaps to use them as air-freshener for drawers. I have only compiled some of them and I have put them inside of an organza bag. Later I have put them among some bath's towels inside of the drawer, of this way they leave a pleasant aroma.

He utilizado dos servilletas de papel para proteger la caja de plástico dónde he transportado unas muffins que he hecho con un mix de muffins con chocolate de la tienda de Comercio Justo. Las servilletas se disponen: una en la base y la otra en la parte superior de la caja para proteger las muffins. Al mismo tiempo, como no se ven es una sorpresa para los destinatarios.

I have used two paper napkins to protect the plastic container where I have transported some muffins that I have baked using a Muffins mix with chocolate of the shop of Fair Trade. The napkins are: one in the base and other in the top part of the box to protect the muffins. At the same time, they are not seen and it is a surprise for the addressees.

Tenía un bolso con las asas estropeadas y no sabía si volver a utilizarlo. Para reutilizarlo, he comprado una cinta plateada, que he puesto alrededor de las asas y he cosido en el extremo de las mismas. Este es mi nuevo bolso ya reutilizado.

I had a handbag with the handles damaged and I did not know if to use it again. To reuse it again, I have bought a silver tape, which one I have put all around the handles and have sewed in the end of the same ones. This one is my new already reused handbag.

Caja con sellos usados - Box with used postage stamps

Colecciono sellos desde que era adolescente, gracias a un regalo de mi tío Julián. Los guardo cuidadosamente en un albúm, pero también tengo muchos repetidos.
Estos últimos días, he confeccionado una caja con sellos Alemanes para mi amiga S. Solo hace falta despegar los sellos de las cartas, sumergiéndolos en agua con sal. Después, se dejan secar en papel de cocina y luego se pegan con pegamento normal. Una vez secos, se aplica laca en spray como la que venden para aplicar en los cuadros al oleo. Después he colocado una pequeña sorpresa dentro de la caja, pero esto es un secreto...

I collect stamps since I was a child, thanks to a gift of my uncle Julián. I keep them carefully in an Album, but I have also many repeated stamps.

These last days, I have made a box decorated with German stamps for my friend S. It is only necessary to remove the stamps of the letters, immersing them in salty water. Later, they can be left to dry in kitchen paper. Then, you can stick them with normal glue. Once dry, you can apply a spray lacquer like the lacquer spray used to apply in the pictures to the oil. After I have put a little surprise inside of the box, but it is a secret...

Reciclando Bandejas de Poliestireno - Recycling Trays of Polystyrene

Cuándo compras carne o fruta a veces, viene en envases de bandejas de poliestireno. Usualmente las dejo en el contenedor del reciclaje de envases, pero otras veces, las limpio y reciclo después. Por ejemplo, he reciclado un par de ellas para poner en la base de unas macetas. En el sur de España, hay que regar las plantas en Verano. Teniendo una bandeja en la base del tiesto, no se desperdicia ni una gota de este valioso tesoro que es el agua.

When you buy some of meat or some pieces of fruits often comes in packages of trays of polystyrene. I leave usually them in the container for recylcing plastic packages, but others times, I clean and recycle them later. For example, I have recycled a couple of them to put in the base of a few pots. In the south of Spain, it is necessary to water the plants in Summer time. Having a tray in the base of a pot, there is wasted not even a drop of this valuable treasure that is the water.

Otra postal usando un posavaso. Solo pegarlo y pintar la inicial del nombre de la persona con un bolígrafo de tinta de gel plateado.

He hecho un sencillo, Centro de Mesa de Primavera utilizando unos petalos de rosa, dos velas y una bandeja de cartón de color plateado.
Es algo bonito y romántico para esta estación dónde las plantas dan su mejores flores. ¿verdad?
