Centro de Adviento - Advent Masterpiece

Mi suegra tiene la tradición de hacer un centro de Adviento para decorar una mesa en el salón. En esta ocasión le ha ayudado mi cuñada, L. Han puesto en un plato plano cuatro velas gruesas de color blanco, y un poco de musgo y escaramujo, algunas piñas y un arbusto de frutos rojos, que no recuerdo su nombre. Me ha gustado y me ha dicho ella cuándo le he preguntado, que lo puedo mostrar en este blog. Entonces, os lo muestro desde dos perspectivas diferentes. Como hice la foto el sábado pasado 05 de diciembre, sólo se había encendido una vela por la primera semana de Adviento, ahora ya serán dos. Cada semana se enciende una vela hasta finalizar el día 25 de Diciembre.

My mother-in-law has the tradition of doing an Advent Masterpiece to decorate a table in the Hall. In this occasion there has been helped by my sister-in-law, L. There have put in a flat plate, four thick white candles, and a bit of moss and wild rose, some pine cones and a shrub of red fruits, that I do not remember its name. I have liked it and she has said to me when I have asked her, that I can show it in this blog.Then, I show it to you from two different perspectives. Since I took the photo last Saturday on December 05, only a candle had been ignited for the first week of Advent, now already they will be two. Every week ignites a candle up to finishing on December 25th.

Reciclando Caja de leche para presentar un regalo - Recycling a milk box to introduce a present

Siguiendo con la celebración de San Nicolás o Sinterklaas como dicen en Bélgica y Países Bajos. Mi cuñada, L., ha decorado para nuestra hija una caja de cartón de leche. En su interior había un simpático regalo para nuestra hija. En la decoración de la caja de leche, ha usado cartulinas en dos colores, primero en naranja y luego en verde. Ha recortado partes de la cartulina de color verde para crear ventanas y puertas. Después, ha puesto cartulina roja como tejado en la abertura del tetrabrik. Para cerrarlo, ha puesto una pinza de ropa con una etiqueta atada con lazos dónde ha escrito un poema. En la pinza, ha pegado una imagen de Zwarte Piet, que es el paje que ayuda a San Nicolás a llevar los regalos a los niños deslizándose por la chimenea.  Aquí os muestro los detalles de esta preciosa caja reciclando un cartón de leche, que nos ha gustado mucho a todos.

Following with the celebration of Saint Nicholas or Sinterklaas as they say in Belgium and Netherlands. My sister-in-law, L., has decorated for our daughter a box of milk. In her interior there was a nice gift for our daughter. In the decoration of the box of milk, she has used cardboards in two colors, firstly in orange and then in green. She has cut away parts of the cardboard of green color to create windows and doors. Later, she has put red cardboard as roof in the opening of the tetrabrik. To close it, she has put a clothespin with a label tied with a ribbon where she has written a poem as is the tradition in that day. In the clothespin, she has stuck an Zwarte Piet's image, which is the page boy who helps Saint Nicholas to take the gifts to the children slipping for the chimney.Here I show you the details of this beautiful box recycling a box of milk, which they they all have liked very much.

Globo para San Nicolás - Balloon for St. Nicholas

El día 05 de Diciembre se celebra Sinterklaas (San Nicolás) en Bélgica y Países Bajos. Es quién trae los regalos a los niños acompañado de su paje Zwarte Piet. La tía K., ha regalado a nuestra hija un globo con la imagen de estos dos personajes. Es curioso, que para sujetar el globo y evitar que no vuele al techo, en lugar de poner una pieza de madera, ha colocado una bolsita con dulces como contrapeso.

On December 05th, Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) is celebrated in Belgium and in the Netherlands. It is the person who brings the gifts to the children accompanied from his page Zwarte Piet. Aunt K., has given to our daughter a balloon with the image of these two characters. It is curious, that to tie the balloon and to avoid it does not fly to the ceiling, instead of putting a wooden piece, has placed a bag with sweets like counterweight. Happy Day to everybody!!

Granada - Pomegranate

¡Hola a todos! Hoy quisiera presentaros, uno de mis postres favoritos en esta estación de Otoño. ¡¡La Granada!! Es un poco laborioso limpiarla, pero después tenéis una fruta muy rica y con muchas propiedades antioxidantes.  A mí, me gusta tomarla como postre y la sirvo en copas de cristal, pero también está deliciosa con otros ingredientes en una ensalada. ¿Os gusta?

Hello everybody! Today I would like to introduce to you, one of my favorite desserts on this autumn season. The Pomegranate!! It is a bit laborious to clean it, but later you have a very rich fruit and with a lot of antioxidant properties. I like to eat it as a dessert and I serve it in crystal glasses, but also it is delicious with other ingredients in a salad. Do you like it?

Corona de Adviento con Galletas - Advent Crown with Cookies

En estos días, quisiera presentaros, mi Corona de Adviento. En mi opinión, es bonito colocarla en la mesa junto a una taza de café o de té. Solo hay que colocar galletas con motivos navideños (he utilizado una caja del supermercado Albert Heijn) en una base de cartón y luego poner una velita como decoración en el centro. ¿Os gusta? Igualmente, podéis utilizar otras galletas y adornar la Corona con algún motivo Navideño.

In these days, I would like to introduce to yourselves, my Advent Crown. In my opinion, it is nice to put in the table close to a cup of coffee or of tea. It is only necessary to place some cookies with Christmas motives (I have used a box of the supermarket Albert Heijn) in a base of cardboard and then to put a tea light as decoration in the center of it. Do you like it to? Equally, you can use other cookies and to decorate the Crown with some Christmas motives.

El tiempo vuela y muy pronto estaremos en Navidad. Personalmente, me gusta enviar mis mejores deseos en estas fechas enviando una felicitación de Navidad. Unas veces, compro las felicitaciones hechas por organizaciones beneficas y en otras ocasiones, las hago yo misma reutilizando algún material que tengo en casa. Por ejemplo, para la realización de estas tarjetas, he usado unas cartulinas grises y azul marino brillantes. En ellas, he pegado unos lazos que he reciclado de los envoltorios de regalos recibidos el año pasado. Ahora solo falta escribir un bonito mensaje.

 Time goes fast and very soon we will be in Christmas time. Personally, I like to send my best wishes in these special days sending a Christmas card. Few times, I buy the Christmas cards made by charitable organizations and in other occasions, I make them myself reusing some materials that I have in house. For example, to make these cards, I have used a few grey and navy blue brilliant cardboards. In them, I have stuck few ribbons that I have recycled of the parcels of gifts received last year. Now it is only necessary to write a nice message.

Asientos para niños - Seats for children

Hace algunas semanas, en unas fiestas locales, el Banco, "KBC" regalaba asientos de cartón hechos por la compañía: http://www.festivalchairs.com/
A nosotros gentilmente, nos regalaron tres unidades. Usando papel de regalo y cinta washi tape, mi marido y yo los hemos redecorado para regalar uno de cada a nuestra sobrina, a nuestro sobrino y a nuestra hija. El proceso es fácil, sólo hay que recortar el papel de regalo en un rectángulo de : 25x 20 cm. La idea es tapar la publicidad del banco y pegarlo al asiento. Después se rematan los bordes usando washi tape roja (para nuestra hija) y en color plata para nuestro sobrino y sobrina. Es un asiento que también se pueden usar como mesita en sus juegos. Cuándo los niños no lo usen, se puede volver a plegar y guardar. Si se deteriora es 100% reciclable al estar compuesto de cartón y de papel.

Some weeks ago, in some local celebrations, the Bank, "KBC" was giving seats made of cardboard by the company: http://www.festivalchairs.com/
Kindly, they gave us three units. Using some of gift paper and washi tape, my husband and I have redecorated them to give one of each, to our niece, to our nephew and to our daughter. It is easy to redecorated them, only it is necessary to cut the paper in a rectangle of: 25 x 20 cm. The idea is to cover the advertising of the bank and to stick it to the seat. Later the edges are finished off using washi tape for our daughter and in color silver for our nephew and niece. It is a seat that also can be used like little table in their games. When the children do not use it, it is possible to return to fold up and keep it. If it deteriorates it is 100 recyclable % on having been composed of cardboard and paper.

Quería hacer un adorno para mi casa en esta bonita estación de Otoño que fuera sencillo y barato. Mi idea, para hacerlo ha sido reciclar una caja de madera de quesos, llenándola de castañas y poniendo encima una bonita acuarela de la localidad Francesa de Cardaillac, la cuál es un regalo de mi amiga I., de Francia. Me gusta el resultado, ¿a vosotros también?

I wanted to do an ornament for my house for this nice autumn season that was simple and cheap. My idea, to do it has been to recycle a round wooden cheese box, filling it with some chestnuts and putting on the top a nice water-color from Cardaillac a French village, which one is a gift of my friend I., from France. I like the result, do you also like to you?

Servilletero reciclando una Bandeja de plástico - Napkin Holder recycling a plastic tray

He reciclado una bandeja de plástico que tenía en casa como Servilletero. He puesto una blonda blanca encima de la bandeja y después las servilletas. La bandeja mide 35x35 cm, entonces, las servilletas de 33 x 33 cm van perfectas en su interior. Aquí, os muestro el antes y el después de esta pequeña manualidad.

I have recycled a plastic tray of plastic that had at home as Napkin Holder. I have put a white doily on the tray and later the napkins. Tray measures 35x35 cm, then, napkins of 33x33 cm stay perfect inside of it. Here, I show you before and after of this small craft.

Decorando Postales de papel Kraft - Decorating Kraft Paper Cards

He comprado unas postales y sobres de papel kraft. Quería decorarlas yo misma para felicitar algunos Cumpleaños. Mi idea era hacer algo simple y dónde destacara el mensaje sin adornos, ni decoraciones. Para ello, he usado un bolígrafo de tinta blanca y he dibujado unas letras con el texto de: "Feliz Cumpleaños" en Neerlandés y en Inglés. Este es el resultado.

I have bought few postcards and envelopes of kraft paper. I wanted to decorate them myself to congratulate some Birthdays. My idea was to make something simple and where the message was standing out without adornments, or decorations. For it, I have used a pen of white ink and have drawn a few letters with the text of: " Happy Birthday " in Dutch and in English language. This is the result.

Siguiendo con los preparativos que hice hace unos días para la fiesta del Cumpleaños de mi hija, aquí os muestro dos globos que personalicé para decorar la puerta de nuestra casa. Primero, he inflado dos globos de color amarillo y rosa, después he dibujado una Tetera y una taza con el mensaje: "Tea Party" (Fiesta con té) con un rotulador permanente en el globo rosa y la edad y nombre de mi hija en el amarillo, y por último, los he colocado en un alambre de cobre. Podéis ver estos pasos, lo único que he olvidado fotografiar es la puerta con los globos decorados.

Continuing with the preparations that I did few days ago for the Birthday party of my daughter, here I show you two balloons that I personalized to decorate the door of our house. First, I have inflated two balloons of yellow and pink color, later I have drawn a Tea-pot and a cup with the message: " Tea Party " with a permanent marker on the pink one and the age and name of my daughter on the yellow one, and finally, I have placed them in a wire of copper. You can see these steps, the only thing that I have forgotten to photograph is the door with the decorated globes.

Hace unos días, celebramos el Cumpleaños de mi hija. Puse una mesa con varios tipos de alimentos y bebidas. Fue una celebración tipo "Cóctel", cada uno se levantaba de su asiento y cogía lo que más le gustaba. Para facilitar la elección, hice unas tarjetas para identificar los alimentos reciclando algunas hojas de una libreta de mi hija, dónde ella había estado dibujando anteriormente. Sólo corté las hojas y las doble en cuatro partes, para que cada hoja aparecieran dos tarjetas. Aquí podéis ver el proceso.

Few days ago, we celebrated the Birthday of my daughter. I put a table with several types of food and drinks. It was a celebration type "Cocktail", each one was getting up of her / his seat and was taking what more she / he liked. To facilitate the choice, I did a few cards to identify the food recycling some sheets of a notebook of my daughter, where she had been drawing previously. Only I cut the sheets and fold them in four parts, in order that every two cards were appearing. Here you can see the process.

Mantelito individual - Individual place mat

Hace unos días fuimos a cenar a un Restaurante con mi hija. Allí, las Camareras nos dejaron algunos lápices y una lámina para que mi hija la pintara un rato, mientras nosotros comíamos. Me gustó, que tuvieran ese detalle con ella. He pensado que mi hija puede usar la lámina un poco más de tiempo. Para ello, la he coloreado con rotuladores y después le he pegado plástico adhesivo por ambos lados, de esta manera, la puede utilizar como mantelito individual. Aquí, podéis ver el resultado final. Few days ago we went to have dinner to a Restaurant . There, the Waitresses left some pencils and a paper us in order that my daughter was painting it, while we were eating. I liked this detail from them for our daughter. I have thought that my daughter could use this paper a bit more time. For it, I have painted it with felt-tip pens and later I have stuck adhesive plastic for both sides, of this way, she can use it as individual place mat. Here, you can see the final result.

Corona de Otoño reutilizando hojas de Roble Americano - Autumn Crown reusing leaves of American Oak

Me gusta mucho el Otoño, de hecho, creo que es mi estación favorita. Los colores que puedes ver en un paseo por un parque, el campo o incluso en la ciudad, son preciosos y muy diferentes entre ellos. Quería hacer un adorno para mi mesa usando algo típico de esta estación. Entonces, he recogido en un parque cercano a mi casa, algunas hojas de Roble Americano de diferentes tonos, desde el rojo al verde, pasando por el marrón, un trozo de un tronco y una vela de color amarillo. Después, he colocado las hojas en forma de una corona alrededor del trozo de tronco con la vela encima. Aquí os muestro cómo queda desde dos perspectivas diferentes.

I like very much the Autumn, in fact, I think that it is my favorite season. The colors that you can see in a walk along a park, in the countryside or even in the city, they are beautiful and very different among them. I wanted to do an adornment for my table using something typical of this season. Then, I have picked up in a park near to my house, some leaves of American Oak of different tones, from the red one to the green one, passing for the brown, a chunk of a trunk and a candle of yellow color. Later, I have placed the leaves doing the shape of a crown all around the chunk of trunk with the candle above. Here I show you how it is from two different perspectives.

Mi Calabaza para Halloween - My Pumpkin for Halloween

Ya se acerca la fiesta de Halloween, entonces, para ambientar un poco mi cocina he decorado una calabaza de manera muy sencilla. Solamente he cortado unos trocitos de cinta washi tape de rayas verdes y blancas a la calabaza para formar los ojos, la nariz y la boca. Una calabaza sonriente para animar mi cocina durante este mes de octubre.

Halloween celebrations comes closer, them to decorate a little bit my kitchen I have made my own pumpkin of a very simple way. I have only cut few pieces of washi tape of green and white stripes to the pumpkin to form the eyes, the nose and the mouth. A smiling pumpkin to encourage my kitchen during this October.
