En el Museo de la Sinagoga de la Calle Dohány, o la Gran Sinagoga de Budapest, la segunda más grande del mundo, en Hungría, he visto algunos objetos muy interesantes. Me ha gustado este candelabro, que se ha hecho reusando una concha como base. Me parece precioso y muy creativo.

In the Museum of the Synagogue of Dohány Street, or the Great Synagogue of Budapest, the second largest in the world, in Hungary, I have seen some very interesting objects. I liked this chandelier, which was made by reusing a shell as a base. I find it beautiful and very creative.

En la bonita ciudad de Salamanca, España, además de su magnífica y antigua Universidad podéis visitar muchos interesantes monumentos. Hoy, quisiera mostraros un detalle de una lámpara colgada en el interior de Casa de las Conchas. Es una mansión Señorial de la época de Reyes Católicos, siglo XV, muy peculiar porque su fachada está decorada con formas de conchas.

In the beautiful city of Salamanca, Spain, as well as its magnificent and ancient University you can visit many interesting monuments. Today, I would like to show you a detail of a lamp hanging inside of Casa de las Conchas. It is a stately mansion of the time of Catholic Kings, XV century, very peculiar because its facade is decorated with shell shapes.

Mi hermana mediana tiene en su casa un bouquet decorativo hecho con conchas marinas bastante curioso, que procede de Almuñecar, un pueblo de la costa de Granada, España. Os enseño diferentes ángulos y detalles de este bouquet creado con ramas, conchas y caracolas de diferentes tamaños.

My medium sister has in her house a decorative bouquet made with some shells from the sea, quite curious, that comes from Almuñecar, a village located in the coast of Granada, Spain. I show you different angles and details of this bouquet created with some branches, shells and seashells of different sizes.

Reusar algunas conchas y una bandeja de plástico para crear un juego - Reusing some shells and a plastic tray to create a game

En estos días de Verano, es interesante en mi opinión, que los niños descansen y también descubran nuevos juegos. He creado un juego con conchas para mi hija. He reusado una bandeja de plástico con cinco espacios, confeti de estrellas doradas y diferentes conchas que hemos encontrado hace algunos días en la playa. Una vez limpias y secas las conchas, se ponen fuera de la bandeja. El juego consiste en ordenarlas por cada tipo de concha en los huecos de las bandejas. Entonces, es el momento para que mi hija se fije en las texturas, forma y aspecto de cada una de las conchas y pueda diferenciarlas. Luego coloca las estrellas de confeti en el hueco central. Después, cuándo todas están colocadas, mi hija tiene que ir sacando las conchas y las estrellas y contarlas cada vez diferenciando por tipos. A ella le ha gustado porque le gusta experimentar como a todos los niños. Otras sugerencias, es hacer percusión con las conchas y contar historias sobre ellas, ¡este juego es libre!

In these days of Summer, it is interesting in my opinion, that children can rest and also to discover new games. I have created a game with shells for my daughter. I have reused a tray of plastic with five spaces, confetti of gold stars and different shells that we have found some days ago on the beach. Once you clean and dry the shells, you put them out of the tray. The game consists to put each sort of shell in the gaps of the tray. Then, it is the time for my daughter to remark the different textures, shape and appearance of each one of the shells and to differentiate them. Then, she places the confetti stars into the central hole. Later, when all are settled, my daughter has to remove the shells and the stars and count them differentiating by type of them. She liked it, because she likes to experiment as all children. Other suggestions, to make percussion with the shells and tell stories about them, this game is free!

En muchos lugares de Países Bajos, puedes encontrar cómo son recicladas las conchas del mar, para aislar y proteger senderos para caminar. En mi opinión, es una manera interesante de proteger el suelo de campos y caminos y para darle un segundo uso a estas conchas.

In many places in the Netherlands, you can find how are recycled the shells of the sea, to isolate and protect  some paths for walking. In my opinion, it is an interesting way to protect the floor from fields and and paths and to give a second use for these shells.

Tenía unas conchas de las vacaciones de este pasado Verano y las he colocado en algunas macetas. Las conchas marinas suelen estar compuestas de carbonato de calcio y proteínas. Estas sustancias se irán desprendiendo poco a poco a la tierra, cuándo vaya regando y proporcionarán nutrientes a mis macetas. Además estas conchas, decoran un poquito mis plantas. En las fotos podéis ver, una Hortensia, una Margarita y un Aloe Vera.

I had few shells from holidays from this last Summer and I have placed them in some pots. The marine shells are in general composed of carbonate of calcium and proteins. These substances will be becoming detached little by little to the ground, when they are been irrigated and then they will provide nutrients to my plants. In addition, these shells can decorate a bit my plants. In the photos you can see, a Hydrangea, a Daisy and an Aloe Side .

Había comprado una caja de quesos Belgas y Franceses, hace varias semanas. La limpié y guardé, porque quería reciclarla para algo útil. Hace pocos días, fuimos a la costa Belga y recogí algunas conchas. Entonces las he pegado para decorar y crear un servilletero de verano. Como curiosidad os comento, que es algo complicado pegar las conchas, porque ellas son irregulares como el borde de la caja y es necesario añadir mucho pegamento.

I had bought a box of Belgian and French cheeses, several weeks ago. I cleaned and guarded it, because I wanted to recycle it for something useful. Few days ago, we went to the Belgian coast and I gathered some shells. Then I have stuck them to decorate and to create a summer napkin holder. As curiosity I comment to you, that it is something complicated to stick the shells, because they are irregular as the edge of the box and to be necessary to add very much glue.

Para adornar una mesa, he utilizado unas conchas que he recogido en la playa, un par de cuencos de cristal y una bandeja color plata. Es algo sencillo pero refrescante, ¿verdad?

To decorate a table, I have used some shells that I have gathered in the beach, a couple of glass bowls and a tray in silver color. It is something simple but refreshing, isn't it?

 He cogido algunas conchas de la playa, la mayoría de tamaño grande. Las he tenido algunos minutos hirviendo en agua con lejía para limpiarlas bien. Después, las he fregado y dejado secar. Por último, las he rellenado con Salpicón de Mariscos, para utilizarlas como pequeñas "Tapas" de Verano, ¡deliciosas y frescas!

I have picked up some shells of the beach, most of them of big size. I have had them some minutes boiling with water and bleach to clean them well. Later, I have washed and left them to dry. Finally, I have refilled them with Seafood Salad, to use them as small " SummerTapas", delicious and fresh!
