Mi marido ha reciclado esta bandeja de plástico de una pizza como bandeja para el rodillo de pintar. Un buen reciclaje para esta bandeja, después si se encuentra muy sucia, la echaremos al contenedor de plástico para que siga su proceso de reciclaje hasta el final.

My husband  has recycled this plastic pizza tray as a tray for the paint roller. A good recycling for this tray, then if it is too dirty, we will throw it into the plastic container to follow its recycling process to the end.

Día de San Patricio - Saint Patrick's Day

Hoy 17 de Marzo, es el día de San Patricio, Patrón de Irlanda. He hecho una sencilla manualidad para mi hija, reciclando un par de bandejas de poliestireno para hacer un paisaje típico de este día. Un arcoiris junto a una olla con monedas de oro y unos tréboles. Primero, he recortado unas formas de tréboles usando un cúter o estilete. Segundo, he pintado un arcoiris y una olla con monedas de oro, usando esmaltes de uñas en una bandeja blanca. Tercero, he escrito: "Feliz día de San Patricio" en Español e Inglés y añadido los tréboles. Si no conocéis esta bonita leyenda Irlandesa, os dejo un enlace con una canción para niños que la explica. Podéis poner subtítulos y cantarla con los peques de la casa.

Today, March 17th, is Saint Patrick’s Day, Patron Saint of Ireland. I made a simple handicraft for my daughter, recycling a couple of polystyrene trays to make a typical landscape of this day. A rainbow next to a pot of gold coins and clovers. First, I have cut some clover shapes using a cutter or stiletto. Second, I have painted a rainbow and a pot of gold coins, using nail polish on a white tray. Third, I have written: "Happy Saint Patrick’s Day" in Spanish and English and added clovers. If you don’t know this beautiful Irish legend, I leave you a link to a children’s song that explains it. You can play subtitles and sing it with the children of the house.

Juego reutilizando palillos de cóctel y bandejas de poliespan- Game reusing cocktail sticks and polystyrene trays

He creado un juego nuevo para mi hija con la intención de seguir mejorando sus habilidades de motricidad fina. Para hacerlo he utilizado un par de bandejas de poliespan, he utilizado dos negras, de alimentos y las he recortado en rectángulos. He usado también un corrector blanco, algunos palillos de cóctel y moldes para jugar con la arena de mi hija. He pintado con el corrector el contorno de los moldes de arena en las bandejas. Luego, ella pincha el contorno de los dibujos usando los palillos de cóctel. ¡Este es el juego!

I have created a new game for my daughter with the intention of improving her fine motor skills. I have reused a couple of expanded polystyrene trays, I reused two black trays from food and I have cut them in rectangles. I have also used a correction fluid, some cocktail sticks and some sand molds of my daughter. I have painted using the correction fluid the outline of molds on the trays. Then, she pricks with the cocktail sticks around the drawing. This is the game!

Normalmente preparo yo misma las ensaladas en casa,  pero alguna vez las he comprado de esas que preparas en un par de minutos porque, traen todos los ingredientes listos para mezclar con la salsa. Hace unos días, compré esta ensalada. Me gustó la bandeja que separaba los ingredientes. Entonces, la lavé, la sequé y la he reciclado junto con otra para hacer un pequeño juego con pompones pequeños. Este juego es similar a uno con el que juega mi hija en la escuela. Consiste en poner el número de pompones que está escrito en cada espacio, o separarlos por colores y hacerlo usando los dedos y con pinzas. Es una manera divertida de adquirir habilidades en la motricidad fina. ¿Os ha gustado?

I normally prepare the salads at home, but sometimes I have bought them those that you prepare in a couple of minutes because, have all the ingredients ready to mix with the sauce. Few days ago, I bought this salad. I liked the tray which one are separated all the ingredients. Then I washed it, dried it and I have recycled it with another one that I had at home to make a little game with small Pompoms. This game is similar to one which one my daughter and her friends play at school. It consists to put the number of pompoms that is written in each space, or separate them by color and do it using your fingers and with tweezers. It is a fun way to acquire fine motor skills. He reciclado una bandeja de plástico como cestita para servir unas tartaletas de chocolate, fresa y limón. Encima de la bandeja he puesto una servilleta de color rosa y una blonda y después las tartaletas.

 I have recycled a plastic tray as little basket to serve some cookies of chocolate, strawberry and lemon.  I have put on the tray a pink napkin and a doilly, and after the cookies.

He reciclado una bandeja de plástico que tenía en casa como Servilletero. He puesto una blonda blanca encima de la bandeja y después las servilletas. La bandeja mide 35x35 cm, entonces, las servilletas de 33 x 33 cm van perfectas en su interior. Aquí, os muestro el antes y el después de esta pequeña manualidad.

I have recycled a plastic tray of plastic that had at home as Napkin Holder. I have put a white doily on the tray and later the napkins. Tray measures 35x35 cm, then, napkins of 33x33 cm stay perfect inside of it. Here, I show you before and after of this small craft.

He usado la bandeja de plástico de una pizza congelada como bandeja para recoger el agua que sobra cuándo riego mis plantas, así no malgasto ni una gota de este valioso líquido. Como curiosidad comento que la pizza era vegetal, una de mis favoritas,..., me pregunto, ¿quién se puede resistir a una pizza?

 I have used the plastic tray of a frozen pizza as tray to gather the water that exceeds when I water my plants, of this way I waste not even a drop of this valuable liquid. As curiosity I comment that the pizza was vegetable, one of my favorites,..., I wonder, who is the one can refuse to a pizza?

No suelo comer mucha comida precocinada, pero alguna vez sucede... En esta ocasión, he reutilizado una bandeja de Lasaña para un nuevo uso como bandeja para mis aperitivos. Primero, comemos la Lasaña, después limpio bien la bandeja y cuándo está seca le pongo una servilleta cubriendo la base y añado los aperitivos.

I am not in the habit of eating a lot of precooked food, but some times it happens... In this occasion, I have reused a Lasagne's tray for a new use as tray for my appetizers. First, we eat the Lasagne, later I wash well the tray and when it is dry I put a napkin covering the base and I add the appetizers.

He hecho mi Decoración de Pascua reutilizando materiales que tenía en casa, un par de bandejas de poliestireno, unos moldes de papel para magdalenas, una caja de cartón de una docena de huevos y cinta washi tape. He dibujado un huevo en papel, lo he recortado y usado como plantilla cuatro veces en las bandejas de poliestireno. Después los he recortado y decorado con cinta washi. También he escrito con bolígrafo un mensaje para felicitar la Pascua en Poliestireno. Por último, he puesto los huevos en la bandeja de cartón junto con el mensaje y añadido los moldes de magdalenas.

I have done my Easter's Decoration reusing some materials that I had at home, a couple of polystyrene trays, few molds of paper for sponge-cakes, a box of cardboard for a dozen of eggs and some washi tapes. I have drawn an egg in a piece of paper, I have cut away it and used as template four times in the trays of polystyrene. Later I have cut away them and decorated using some washi tape. I have also written with a pen a message to congratulate the Easter time in a piece of Polystyrene. Finally, I have put the eggs in the cardboard tray together with the message and added the molds of sponge-cakes.

Cuándo compras carne o fruta a veces, viene en envases de bandejas de poliestireno. Usualmente las dejo en el contenedor del reciclaje de envases, pero otras veces, las limpio y reciclo después. Por ejemplo, he reciclado un par de ellas para poner en la base de unas macetas. En el sur de España, hay que regar las plantas en Verano. Teniendo una bandeja en la base del tiesto, no se desperdicia ni una gota de este valioso tesoro que es el agua.

When you buy some of meat or some pieces of fruits often comes in packages of trays of polystyrene. I leave usually them in the container for recylcing plastic packages, but others times, I clean and recycle them later. For example, I have recycled a couple of them to put in the base of a few pots. In the south of Spain, it is necessary to water the plants in Summer time. Having a tray in the base of a pot, there is wasted not even a drop of this valuable treasure that is the water.
