Cesta especial por el Día de Países Bajos - Special Basket for the Netherlands' Day

Tía K, nos ha regalado una Cesta con Productos tipicamente Neerlandeses, como: Caramelos de regaliz, sirope, té, caramelos de menta de Wilhemina y una mezcla para hacer "Crêpes" o "Pannekoeken" cómo dicen en Países Bajos. Todo se encuentra en una cesta con dibujos de Azulejos de Delft. Es una buena idea para dar a conocer algo de este país, especialmente hoy día 27 de Abril que celebran su día ¿verdad?

Aunt K, has given us a Basket with Typically Dutch Products, like: Candies of licorice, sirope, tea, Wilhemina's mint sweets and a mixing to cook "Crêpes" or "Pannekoeken" how they say in Netherlands. Everything is in a basket decorated with Delft's blue drawings. It is a good idea to show something of this country, specially today 27th April because they celebrate their day, isn't it?

Haciendo Libros Bilingües - Making Bilingual Books

Mi hija está aprendiendo sus primeras palabras, expresiones y canciones. Para ayudarla en esta importante tarea, con un bolígrafo de tinta permanente, que uso para marcar la ropa, he hecho una versión Bilingüe, es decir, he escrito en Español, las palabras que muestran algunos cuentos en Neerlandés. Es muy importante leer desde niño y si te acostumbras a hacerlo en otros idiomas, es una ventaja para el futuro.
Por cierto, hoy se celebra en España, el Día del Libro, ¡Feliz día a todos y  leed mucho!

My daughter is learning her first words, expressions and songs. To help her in this important task, I have used a pen of permanent ink, which one, I use to mark the clothes, and I have done a Bilingual version, that is to say, I have written in Spanish, the words that show some books in Dutch. It is very important to read from child and if you get used to doing it in other languages, it is an advantage for the future.
Today is celebrated in Spain, the Day of the Book, happy day to everybody and to read very much!

Reciclando un CD o DVD para crear un portavelas Recycling a CD or DVD to create a tea light holder

Esta es una manualidad que no he hecho yo misma, la he visto en una de las tiendas de segunda mano que hay en Bélgica y se llaman: "Kringwinkel". Necesitas un CD o DVD que no uses, pegamento y unas 24 o 26 bases de vela. Primero pegas una base de vela en el agujero del CD o DVD y después una por una, tienes que doblar las bases de velas con los lados hacia dentro, una vez bien aplastadas todas las bases, las pegas haciendo la forma de una "flor de loto" en el CD o DVD. En las fotos os muestro los materiales y el proceso. Ya solo falta poner una vela y usarlo como portavela .

This one is a craft that I have not made myself, I have seen it in one of the shops of the second hand that exists in Belgium and they call: "Kringwinkel". You need a CD or DVD that you do not use, glue and approximately 24 or 26 bases of tea lights. First you glue a base of a tea light in the hole of CD or DVD, and after one per one you have to fold the bases of a tea lights with its edge to inside doing that the bases are flat and stick them to the CD or DVD doing a "lotus flower". In  the photos I show you the materials and the process. It is only necessary to put a tea light and use it as tea light holder.

Hace algunas semanas, que estuvimos en el Hotel Holiday Inn en la ciudad de Leiden (Países Bajos), es un Hotel bastante grande. Cerca de Recepción, me gustaron estas mesitas que decoran la estancia. Para realizarlas, se han usado unos troncos muy especiales, aquí os los muestro. ¿Os gustan también?

Un recipiente de los potitos de mi hija de plástico, lo estoy reutilizando para llevar la merienda (alguna fruta en trozos, galletas, pequeñas chocolatinas...) Aquí podéis verlo, una vez lavado y secado bien. Su tamaño es perfecto para mi bolso y se cierra fenomenal.

A baby food plastic container of my daughter, I am re-using it to take the snack (some of fruit in chunks, some cookies, small chocolates ...) Here you can see it, once washed and dried well. It has the perfect size for my bag and closes phenomenal.

Postre Judío - Jewish Dessert

Mis suegros me han traído los ingredientes para celebrar un postre de origen Judío. Se usa Pan ácimo, también llamado Matze o Matse, se pone un poco de mantequilla en el pan, se cortan los brotes de Berro de Jardín o Mastuerzo (Lepidium sativum) encima y se echa un poco de azúcar y unas gotas de limón. ¡Es un postre muy refrescante!

My fathers-in-law have me brought the ingredients to celebrate a dessert of Jewish origin. The bread used is  Matze or Matse, you put a bit of butter in the bread, some pieces of Garden Cress (Lepidium sativum) on it, and adding a bit of sugar and few drops of lemon juice. It is a very refreshing dessert!

Aún tenía una bolsa de paraguas vacía en casa, después de que el paraguas se rompió. Ahora, le he encontrado un nuevo uso. Me va a servir, para guardar una bolsa de tela para la compra que me regalaron en una Farmacia. Creo que la voy a usar mucho, porque Abril es un mes lluvioso, casi siempre.

Still I had an empty bag of umbrella at home, after the umbrella broke. Now, I have found a new use for it. It is going to serve me, to keep a fabric shopping bag that they gave me in a Pharmacy. I think I am going to use it a lot, because April is a rainy month, almost always.
