Palillo para Aperitivo decorado con washi tape - Stick for Appetizer decorated with washi tape

Mi marido me ha regalado unas cintas de "washi tape", también conocida como "masking tape" para mis manualidades. Ahora en Verano con calor y buenas temperaturas, apetece tomar aperitivos y ensaladas al aire libre. Utilizando "washi tape" he decorado unos palillos para que queden bonitos para servir nuestros aperitivos. Solo hay que pegar un trozo de cinta y cortar el extremo en la forma que más te guste. Esta es una pequeña muestra, pienso hacer muchos más.

My husband has given me some  "washi tape ", also known as " masking tape " for my crafts. Being in Summer with heat weather and good temperatures, we like to take appetizers and salads outdoors. Using "washi tape" I have decorated a few toothpicks in order that they remain nice to serve our appetizers. It is only necessary to stick a chunk of tape and cut it in a way that more you like it. This one is a small sample, but I think to make more.

I have used two jellies babies with form of a mouse to adorn a sponge cake that I have baked to have as snack in the afternoon. I have also reused two jellies of blackberry flavor to accompany a croissant. An afternoon snack have to be funny, healthy and tasty, truth?

Accesorios para un Pirata - Accesories for a Pirate

En estos días de Verano, es divertido crear disfraces sencillos para los niños. Hemos hecho con cartón un sable y un brazalete para disfrazar a un bebé de Pirata. Hemos dibujado en cartón un sable de unos 25 cm de largo y lo hemos hecho doble, para que sea más resistente y pintado con lápiz rojo la empuñadura. Para el brazalete, hemos utilizado la mitad de un rollo de papel higiénico, que hemos cortado una incisión a lo largo. Después, lo hemos forrado con cinta aislante negra y pintado una calavera con un bolígrafo corrector de escritura. Para finalizar el conjunto usaremos un pañuelo tipo "bandana" para la cabeza del Bebé Pirata.

In these Summer days, it is funny to create simple disguises for the children. We have made with cardboard a saber and a bracelet to disguise a baby of Pirate. We have drawn in cardboard a saber of approximately 25 cm of length and have made it double, in order that it is more resistant and painted with red pencil the handle. For the bracelet, we have used the half of a hygienic roll, which one we have cut an incision lengthways. Later, we have covered it with insulating tape in black colour and painted a skull with a pen corrector. To finish the set we will use a handkerchief type "bandana" for the head of the Baby Pirate.

Mi amiga Sofía, me regaló un bote de cerámica lleno de almendras garrapiñadas (almendras fritas cubiertas con azúcar) de Villafrechós, una pequeña localidad de Valladolid (España). Después de comerlas, ¡¡qué ricas estaban!! He reciclado este bote para poner unos cubiertos de madera en mi cocina.

My friend Sofía, gave me a container of ceramic full of caramel-coated almonds (fried almonds covered with sugar) from Villafrechós, a small village of Valladolid (Spain). After eating them, they were so delicious!! I have recycled this container to put a few cutlery of wood in my kitchen.

He reciclado una botella de vino, en un florero sencillo para decorar una mesa. Solo he limpiado la botella, quitado las etiquetas y puesto una flor de clavel y una hoja de aspidistra. Esta planta tiene su origen en Japón, China y la zona del Himalaya, aquí en el Sur de Europa es bastante popular.

I have recycled a bottle of wine, in a simple vase to decorate a table. I have only cleaned the bottle, removed the labels and put a flower of carnation and a leaf of aspidistra. This plant has her origin in Japan, China and the zone of the Himalayas, here in Europa's South it is also quite popular.

 He cogido algunas conchas de la playa, la mayoría de tamaño grande. Las he tenido algunos minutos hirviendo en agua con lejía para limpiarlas bien. Después, las he fregado y dejado secar. Por último, las he rellenado con Salpicón de Mariscos, para utilizarlas como pequeñas "Tapas" de Verano, ¡deliciosas y frescas!

I have picked up some shells of the beach, most of them of big size. I have had them some minutes boiling with water and bleach to clean them well. Later, I have washed and left them to dry. Finally, I have refilled them with Seafood Salad, to use them as small " SummerTapas", delicious and fresh!

Hace unos días,  cuándo fuimos a la Gasolinera para echar carburante en nuestro coche, el empleado nos regaló dos sombreros, uno para mi marido y otro para mí. Tenían una cinta escrita con el nombre del proveedor de la Gasolinera. He descosido estas cintas de cada uno. Después, he cosido una cinta nueva roja en cada uno para personalizarlos. He necesitado, un par de tijeras, un poco de hilo rojo, unos 60 cm de cinta roja ancha para mi marido y unos 80 cms de cinta roja más estrecha para mi sombrero. Después de estos pasos, están listos para utilizarlos en la playa este verano.

Few days ago,  when we went to the Petrol station to put fuel in our car, employee gave us two hats, one for my husband and other one for me. They had a written ribbon with the name of supplier of the Petrol station. I have unstitched these ribbons of each one. Later, I have sewed a new red ribbon on them to personalize them. I needed, a pair of scissors, a bit of red thread, approximately 60 cm of wide red ribbon for my husband and approximately 80 cms of narrower red ribbon for my hat. After these steps, they are ready to use them on the beach this summer.

Reutilizando una bolsa de papel - Reusing a paper bag

Queríamos regalar una maceta de perejil a mi madre, la cuál habíamos nosotros sembrado y cuidado en los últimos meses. Teníamos dudas para decorarla, podíamos haberlo hecho con tejido de yute, celofán o papel de regalo. Finalmente, hemos decidido reutilizar una bolsa de cartón para facilitar su transporte. Para no ensuciar el fondo de la bolsa, hemos puesto una bandeja de poliestireno que también la hace más estable.

We had doubts about decorating it, we could have done using a piece of fabric of jute, cellophane or gift paper. Finally, we have decided to reused a paper bag to facilitate its transport. Not to dirty the bottom of the bag, we have put a tray of polystyrene that also makes it stabler.

He decorado una alfombrilla para el ratón del ordenador reciclando sellos usados de correos. Simplemente, hay que pegar los sellos en la alfombrilla y plastificar usando plástico adhesivo transparente. Será el regalo sorpresa para mi amigo I. I have decorated a small mouse pad recycling some used postage stamps. Simply, you have to glue the stamps on the mouse pad and laminate it using some adhesive and transparent plastic.
