He creado un árbol de Navidad especial para niños y adultos golosos. Es muy sencillo, encima de un plato, he puesto tres palitos de esos que se usan para los pinchitos y brochetas haciendo la forma de un árbol, después le he puesto una estrella de gominola y como algunas gominolas de color amarillo y verde como bolas decorandolo.

I have created a special Christmas tree for children and adults who have a sweet tooth. It is very simple, on a plate, I have put three small sticks of these that are used for skewers and brochettes doing the shape of a tree, later, I have put a jelly star and some jelly balls in yellow and green color decorating it.

Usando un trozo de cartón blanco que tenía en casa, he hecho un pequeño adorno para la puerta. He pegado una imagen de un nacimiento de un folleto y detrás he puesto masilla adhesiva para ponerlo en la puerta. He escrito la frase: "Feliz Navidad" en Español y Holandés, los idiomas de mi hogar. Es algo muy sencillo, pero decora un poco nuestra puerta blanca. En la foto veréis también que hay otra postal con el texto: "Bienvenido a Casa" en Holandés que enviaron mis suegros hace algunos meses.

Using a piece of white carton that had at home, I have made a small adornment for the door. I have stuck an image of a Holy Birth from a leaflet and behind I have put adhesive pastry to put it on the door. I have written the phrase: " Merry Christmas " in Spanish and Dutch, the languages of my home. It is something very simple, but it decorates a bit our white door. In the photo you will also see that there is another postcard with the text :" Welcome to House " in Dutch that my fathers-in-law sent us some months ago.

Regalo y globo - Gift and balloon

En estas fechas dónde muchos intercambiamos regalos, hay muchas formas de hacerlo. Por ejemplo, forrando el regalo con un bonito papel, personalizandolo con dibujos, cintas,...etc. Sin embargo, si prefieres entregar algo de dinero como regalo. Mi idea es hacerlo de un modo diferente. Primero, pones el dinero en el interior de un sobre y luego haces un agujero con un perforador en la esquina del sobre. Después le atas un globo con una cuerda. En el globo puedes escribir un mensaje o poner una pegatina con el nombre del destinatario. En este caso, el destinatario era mi hija y su tío le ató un globo con forma de corazón.

In these dates where many of us exchange gifts,there are many ways of doing it. For example, wrapping your gift with a nice gift-paper, personalizing it with few drawings, beautiful tapes, ribbons... etc. However, if you prefer to give some of money as a gift. My idea is to do it in a different way. Firstly, you put the money inside one on and then you do a hole with a perforator on the corner of on. Later you tie a balloon with a string. In the balloon you can write a message or put a sticker with the name of the addressee. In this case, addressee was my daughter and her uncle tied a balloon with shape of a heart.

Pasador para las fiestas - Hair Clip for celebrations

Tenía un pasador que estaba un poco deteriorado. Lo he dado pintado con esmalte de uñas y de nuevo está bonito para ser utilizado durante estas próximas fiestas de Navidad. Aquí, os muestro "antes" y "después",  ¿pensáis qué se parece un poco a las bolas de Navidad? Yo creo que sí.

I had a hair clip that was a bit damaged. I have painted it using a bit of nail polish and it is again pretty to be used during these next Christmas celebrations. Here, I show you "before" and "after",  do you think what looks like Christmas balls? I think so.

Corona de Adviento con Abeto - Advent Crown with Silver Fir

He recogido algunas pequeñas ramas de abeto (Abies Alba), que habían caído en un bosque cercano a la ciudad. Las he unido formando un círculo usando un par de cintas, una roja brillante y otra dorada para crear mi corona de Adviento. Después he colocado mi corona en una mesa y le he puesto cuatro velas de color amarillo, una por cada semana de Adviento.

 I have gathered some little branches of Silver fir (Abies Alba),  that had fallen down in a forest near to the city. I have joined them forming a circle using two ribbons, one in brilliant red and another one in gilded to create my crown of Advent. Later I have placed my crown on a table and I have put four candles of yellow color, one for every week of Advent.

Bolsa para San Nicolás - Bag for Saint Nicholas or Sinterklaas

He decorado una bolsa de papel de color rojo para llenarla con los regalos de San Nicolás o Sinterklaas (este Santo, es quién trae los regalos a los niños en Países Bajos). Para ello, he recortado la figura de San Nicolás y el paje Piet de un folleto de una tienda llamada Hema, que es Holandesa . Después, los he pegado en la bolsa usando cinta washi en rayas blancas y rojas. Creo que es más divertido de esta forma recibir los regalos.

I have decorated a paper bag of red color to fill it with the gifts of Saint Nicholas or Sinterklaas (this Saint, is the one who brings the gifts to the children in the Netherlands). For it, I have cut away the figure of Saint Nicholas and the page boy Piet of a leaflet of a shop called Hema, which one is Dutch. Later, I have stuck them in the bag using washi tape in white and red stripes. I believe that it is more funny to receive the gifts of this way.

Ahora, a finales de Noviembre, es el momento ideal (si no lo habéis hecho ya) para empezar a preparar vuestras tarjetas de Navidad y poder enviarlas a inicios de Diciembre. Yo lo estoy haciendo estos días. He cortado cartulina marrón y azul de tamaño 10 x 11 cms. Después, las he decorado con adhesivos en rojo y dorado de motivos navideños. Aquí os enseño algunas de mis tarjetas.

Now, at the end of November, it is the perfect moment (if you have not already done it) to start preparing your Christmas cards and being able to send them to beginnings of December. I am doing it these days. I have cut brown and blue cardboard of size 10 x 11 cms. Later, I have decorated them with stickers in red and gilding of Christmas motives. Here I show you some of my cards.

He reutilizado una bandeja de polipropileno de las que se usan como recipiente de alimentos frescos para agrupar algunos de los productos de mi hija para su aseo diario. De esta forma están más ordenados.

I have reused a tray of polypropylene of those who are used as container of fresh food to group some of the products of my daughter for her daily bathroom. Of this form they are more tidy.

Una prima de mi marido, L., nos ha regalado esta caja decorada por ella. Ha usado las bolsitas de papel dónde viene el té o infusión y unos dibujos de Winnie the Pooh. El resultado es divertido, un poco como un mosaico lleno de color. La  primera foto es del fondo de la caja decorada con bolsitas en color verde. La segunda foto es una vista exterior de la caja.

A cousin of my husband, L., has given us this box decorated by her. She has used the tea labels bags where is found the tea or infusion and some Winnie the Pooh drawings. The result is funny, a bit as a mosaic full of color. The first photo is the bottom of the box decorated using green bags. The second photo is an exterior view of the box.

He reutilizado una malla de mandarinas que tenía en casa como red para proteger objetos pequeños al lavarlos en la lavadora, concretamente, he puesto algunas gomas y cintas para el pelo de mi hija. Así por mucho que se mueva la lavadora estarán bien proteguidos.

I have reused a clementines' net that had in house as net to protect some small objects on having washed them in the washing machine, concretely, I have put some scrunchies and hair bands of my daughter. Of this way for much that moves the washing machine they will be well protected.

Mi marido me ha regalado tres calabazas que he colocado en una cesta con una servilleta de Ikea como centro de decoración de Otoño. Esas calabazas tienen formas curiosas pero no son comestibles.

My husband has given me three pumpkins that I have placed in a basket with Ikea's napkin as center of autumn decoration. These pumpkins have curious forms but they are not eatable.

Reutilizando el elástico de un calcetín tipo media - Reusing an elastic from a nylon sock

Estoy segura que muchos de vosotros, usáis calcetines tipo "media" o "ejecutivos" de nylon para algunos zapatos como este que muestro en mi primera foto. Si se os rompe alguno, hay una forma de usar algún tiempo más su elástico. Sólo tenéis que cortar el elástico y luego lo podéis utilizar para fijar algún ramo de flores como he hecho yo con este que me ha regalado mi cuñada, J., de girasoles. Así quedarán mejor en el jarrón.

I am sure that many of you, use nylon socks for some shoes as this one that I show in my first photo. If  someone breaks, there is a way of using some time more its elastic. You only have to cut the elastic and then you it can use to fix some branch of flowers as I have made with this one that my sister-in-law, J., has given me of sunflowers. This way they will remain better in the vase.

Tenía algunos clips, a los cuales les he cambiado su aspecto solamente pintandolos con esmalte de uñas. No se aprecian demasiado bien en las fotos, pero os aseguro que han cambiado a un color más divertido.

I had some paper clips, which ones I have changed their aspect only painting them using a bit of nail polish. It does not appreciate too much good in the photos, but I assure you that they have changed into a more funny colour.

Servilletero para Fiesta de Cumpleaños - Napkin holder for a Birthday Party

Siguiendo con los preparativos para la primera fiesta de Cumpleaños de mi niña, he hecho un servilletero. He reciclado el recipiente dónde venían unos wraps. Primero lo he limpiado y luego, lo he decorado con cinta washi tape, la misma cinta que usé para decorar las pajitas, haciendo la forma de un lazo. Después, he puesto unas servilletas en su interior. Ahora está listo para usar.

Continuing with the preparations for the first Birthday Party of my baby girl, I have made a napkin holder. I have recycled the container where were some wraps. Firstly I have cleaned it and after, I have decorated it with washi tape, (the same one tape that I had used to decorate the straws) doing the form of a bow. Later, I have put a few napkins inside. Now it is ready to use.

Este mes de Octubre es el primer Cumpleaños para mi hija, estoy preparando todos los detalles para su primera fiesta de Cumpleaños. Ahora, he decorado unas pajitas con cinta washi tape. Solo he cortado unos 8 cms de cinta, pegado y doblado sobre la pajita. Después, he cortado los bordes y ya están preparadas.

This month of October is the first Birthday for my daughter, I am preparing all the details for her first Birthday Party. Now, I have decorated some straws with washi tape. I have only cut approximately 8 cms of tape, glued and doubled on the straw. Later, I have cut the edges and already they are prepared.

Había comprado una caja de tomatitos tipo cherry y me daba lástima tirarla. Entonces, recordé que no tenía dónde guardar mis cintas de regalo. Limpié y sequé rápido la caja y aquí están ya mis cintas guardadas y listas para usar.

I had bought a box of cherry tomatoes and I was felt sorry for to throw it. Then, I remembered that I did not have where to keep my ribbons to decorate my gifts. I cleaned and dried rapidly the box and here there are my tapes kept and ready to use.
