Corona de Adviento - Advent's Crown

He hecho una Corona de Adviento para adornar mi casa en Navidad. He utilizado una base de cartón para tartas de color dorado, cuatro ramitas de acebo, cuatro velas forradas con cinta washi y un nacimiento de bronce. He dispuesto estos elementos formando un círculo para crear la corona, ahora solo falta encender las velas, las cuales corresponden a cada una de las cuatro semanas de Adviento.

I have made an Advent's Crown to adorn my house in this Christmas time. I have used a base of golden cardboard for cakes, four little branches of holly, four tealights decorated with a bit of washi tape and a birth made of bronze. I have put these elements forming a circle to create the crown, now only it is necessary to light on the candles, which one of them corresponds to each one of four weeks of Advent.

He hecho una decoración para una mesa, con materiales sencillos, un par de vasos de yogur, un par de velas y un par de blondas de papel. Esta es el resultado de la decoración de la mesa.

He hecho una pequeña pulsera con unas cuentas de plástico y cristal que tenía en casa. Solo he necesitado hilo de plástico, meter las cuentas y atar un nudo. Por último, la voy a guardar en una bolsa de organza.

I have made a small bracelet with some few beads of plastic and glass that had in home. I have only needed a chunk of plastic's thread, to put the beads and to tie a knot. Finally, I am going to keep it in an organza bag.

Tenía unos trozos pequeños de fieltro que me habían sobrado de hacer algunas manualidades. He reciclado estos pedazitos de fieltro en una postal con el dibujo de una seta. Todavía no he decidido si voy a añadir algún dibujo más a la postal o un adhesivo. Por ahora, este es el resultado.

I had a few small chunks of felt that had exceeded me of making some crafts. I have recycled these small chunks of felt in a card with the drawing of a mushroom. I have not decided yet if I am going to add any drawing more to the card or a sticker. For the present, this is the result.

I have bought a Christmas's ball with candies of anise in its base. Before giving it as a present, I have decorated it wrapping it with cellophane and tying a label that I have made with a small lace.

Christmas time begins in a few days. To send our better wishes, I have created my Christmas Cards, using simple materials. Some Ikea's cards which ones I have added a bird as Messenger of our wishes created with red and white felt and a silvered sticker with the phrase: Merry Christmas. Hoy ha empezado el Adviento, lo que significa que empieza la cuenta atrás para la Navidad. Un tiempo muy bonito para los niños y mucha gente, pero igualmente triste para otros. A mí, personalmente me gusta la Navidad y disfruto mucho estos días. He reciclado papel de regalo en etiquetas para adornar paquetes y regalos. Solo he necesitado pegar el papel en cartulina, hacer un agujero con el perforador y atar un cordón. Aquí os muestro algunos ejemplos.

Today, has begun Advent time, which means that begins the countdown for Christmas. It is a nice time for the children and many people, but equally it is a sad for others. Personally, I like Christmas time and I enjoy very much these days. I have recycled gift paper in labels to decorate some packages and gifts. I have only needed to stick the paper in cardboard, to make a hole with the punch and to tie a cord.

Tengo un bolso dónde guardo los trozos de fieltro y tela que uso para mis manualidades. Hace unos días se rompió el tirador de la cremallera que lo cierra. Para poder continuar usandolo he reciclado un clip grande y dos llaves viejas que tenía guardadas en un cajón como tirador de la cremallera. Por ahora esta idea funciona, ¡bien!

I have a bag where I keep all the chunks of felt and fabric that I use for my crafts. Few days ago it broke the handle of the zipper that closes it. To be able to continue using it I have recycled one big clip and two old knives that I had kept in a drawer as a handle for the zip. By the way this idea works, well!

Una Postal hecha con un Perforador de Tulipanes - A Tulips Punch Card

Usando una cartulina de color gris, un trozo de papel rojo, un lazo blanco, un perforador de forma de tulipán y pegamento, he creado una postal para mi hermana Olga. Es sencillo, con el perforador y el papel de regalo, se preparan varios tulipanes. Después, se pegan haciendo la forma de ramo de flores y se remata pegando un lazo blanco. Esta es la postal.

With a piece of grey color cardboard, a chunk of red paper, a white lace, a punch of tulips and glue, I have created a postcard for my sister Olga. It is simple, with the punch and the paper several tulips are prepared. Later, they are glued doing the form of bouquet of flowers and it is glued a white lace at the lower part. Decorando Bote de Mermelada - Decorating Jam Container

Mi madre nos ha regalado una Mermelada de Naranja hecha por ella, ¡qué rica! He decorado este bote con una etiqueta adhesiva de tamaño 7 x 3 cm, a la que he recortado los bordes con unas tijeras dentadas y he escrito el texto de: "Mermelada de Naranja" con un bolígrafo de tinta gel de ese color. También he puesto en la parte superior un trozo de yute de tamaño 13 x 13 cm recortando de manera irregular los bordes y sujetándolo con una goma elástica.

My mother has given us an Orange Jam cooked by herself, delicious! I have decorated this container with an adhesive label of size 7 x 3 cm, which one I have cut the edges using a pair of scallop and I have written the text of: " Orange Jam " (in Spanish: "Mermelada de Naranja") with a gel pen of this color. I have also put in the top part a chunk of jute of size 13 x 13 cm cutting the edges in an irregular way and holding it with an elastic.

En estos pasados días de Octubre, he recogido algunas piñas y algunas hojas de arce, las cuáles he secado con papel absorbente. Después, he creado un Adorno para mesa colocando algunas piñas, hojas de arce, una vela y una plancha de cartón. Es algo sencillo pero bonito para esta estación de Otoño.

In these last days of October, I have picked up some pine cones and some leaves of maple, which ones, I have dried with absorbent paper. Later, I have created a Table Adornment placing some pine cones, maple leaves, a candle and a plate of cardboard. It is something simple but nice for this autumn season.

Si tienes más de 30 años, estoy segura que te acordarás de los botes o contenedores dónde iban las películas de fotos antes de instalarlas en tu cámara. Estos objetos, se fabricaban con plástico negro o translúcido. He reciclado uno que aún tenía en casa para usarlo como minicosturero en los viajes. En ocasiones, estando fuera de casa, por ejemplo en un viaje, es fácil que se rompa un botón o se descosa algo en tu ropa. En esas circunstancias este minicosturero puede ser muy útil.

If you  are more of 30 years old, I am sure, you will remind yourself of the containers or canisters where were put the photo films before installing them in your photo camera. These objects, they were made using  black or translucent plastic. I have recycled one of them, which one I had still at  home to use it as sewing kit for my  trips. In some moments, being out of home, for example during a trip, it is easy that a button breaks or something comes unstitched in your clothes. In these circumstances, a sewing kit can be very useful.

Today as dessert, my husband and I have taken Strawberry Cheese Cake Ice cream. Few minutes before, I have decorated the spoons to take our ice cream with spots (Polka dots) painted with nail polish. A funny detail, isn't it?

For my friend Carol from Scotland, I have made a Felt's Brooch of a Skull. First photo shows the materials, the second one the front and the third the back part of brooch. Reciclando unas hojas de hiedra - Recycling few leaves of ivy

He secado durante unos días unas hojas de hiedra, poniéndolas entre un par de hojas de papel de cocina y con unos libros gruesos encima, a modo de prensa. Una vez secas, para reciclarlas he creado un par de postales de Cumpleaños pegándolas en unas cartulinas de color verde. Creo que son apropiadas para estos días de Otoño.

I have dried some days few leaves of ivy, putting them between a couple of sheets of kitchen paper and with a few thick books on them, like a press. Once they are dry, to recycle them I have created a couple of Birthday cards sticking them in a few cardboards of green color. I believe that they are suitable for these days of Autumn.

Día de Fiesta en España - Bank Holiday Day in Spain

Hoy es día de Fiesta Nacional en España, el Día del Descubrimiento de América, Día de la Hispanidad y Día de la Virgen del Pilar. En Estados Unidos conocido también como: Columbus Day. Para celebrar un poco este día tan Histórico, he hecho tres barcos como los tres que llegaron con Cristobal Colón para descubrir América, La Santa María, La Pinta y La Niña. He utilizado tres papeles especiales para hacer origami en tres colores diferentes. ¡¡Feliz día a todos!!

Today is a National Bank holiday in Spain, the Day of the Discovery of America and Day of our Lady of  Virgen del Pilar. In the United States also known like: Columbus Day. To celebrate a little bit this so historical day, I have made three ships as the three that arrived with Christopher Columbus to discover America, La Santa Maria, La Pinta and La Niña. I have used three special papers to create origami forms in three different colors. Happy day to everybody!!

Dulces para Halloween - Halloween's Candies

 Halloween, aunque no soy Anglosajona, me parece divertido. Por eso, he creado unos paquetitos con caramelos dentro, usando el cilindro de cartón del papel higiénico y luego forrandolos con papel Kraft y pegando encima unos adornos de Halloween que he encontrado en internet. Los he rellenado con algunos caramelos y por último, para cerrarlos unos alambres blancos de esos que vienen con algunos paquetes de dulces o pan de molde. ¿Os gustan?

Halloween, although I am not Anglo-Saxon, I find it quite funny. For this reason, I have created some rolls with candies inside, using the carboard cylinder of a hygienic paper roll, and later I have wrapped it with Kraft paper and I have sticked on them some Halloween's decorations that I have found in Internet. I have refilled them with some candies and finally, to close them, I have used some white wires. You can find these wires in some packages of sweets or sandwich bread. Do you like them?

Reutilizando Semillas de Calabaza - Reusing Pumpkin Seeds

Ahora en Otoño es el tiempo perfecto para comprar calabazas. He comprado una, que he cortado y he utilizado su pulpa para cocinar una Crema de Calabaza. Las semillas las he limpiado y secado unos días colocandolas en una bandeja de poliestireno con base de papel de cocina. Una vez secas, las he puesto en una sartén para tostar con algo de aceite de girasol y sal. Hay que prestar atención ya que "saltan" bastante. Cuándo están doradas, es que están listas para comer, ¡deliciosas! Aquí muestro el proceso.

Now in Fall is the perfect time to buy a Pumpkin. I have bought one, which one I have cut it and used her pulp to cook a Pumpkin Cream. I have cleaned and dried the seeds for few days placing them in a tray of polystyrene with a of base of kitchen role. Once they were dry, I have put them in a frying pan to toast with a bit of sunflower oil and salt. It is necessary to pay attention since "jump" very much. When they are gilded, it means that they are ready, delicious! Here I show the process.

Ha empezado Octubre y en muchos países se celebra Halloween en este mes. He encontrado en una página web varias postales Vintage de Halloween que se pueden usar para uso personal, no uso comercial. He confeccionado tres postales para unas amigas. He usado dos cartulinas amarillas de medidas 15cm ancho por 22 de largo que he doblado y otra cartulina en color negro sencilla de medidas de 10 ancho por 16 de largo. He impreso las postales en color y una la he recortado con un par de tijeras normales y las otras dos con tijeras de dientes. Después las he pegado y ya están listas para enviar a mis amigas.

October has begun and in many countries Halloween is celebrated this month. I have found in a web site several Halloween Vintage cards that can be used for personal use, not commercial use. I have made three cards for three friends. I have used two yellow cardboards of measures 15cm width for 22 of length that I have doubled and another cardboard in black color simple shape of measures of 10 width for 16 of length. I have printed the cards in color and one have cut it away with a pair of normal scissors and other two with a pair of scallop scissors. Later I have glued them and they are ready to send to my friends.
