Reutilizando corcho para crear un salvamanteles - Reusing cork to create a tablemat

El corcho, de las botellas de vino o champán, es un material muy usado en España, Portugal, Francia o Italia. Con un plato de madera, un poco de pegamento fuerte y cortando los corchos a lo largo, podéis crear un bonito salvamanteles o posavasos, ¡es un magnífico aislante del calor y frío! Aquí, podéis ver el proceso y los resultados en dos fotos diferentes. La primera es un salvamanteles preparado para regalar hecho con corchos Españoles, y otro con corchos Portugueses de nuestro viaje a Porto que regalamos a mi cuñada Lidwine y su novio Eelco.

Cork, from the bottles of wine or champagne, is a material very used in Spain, Portugal, France or Italy. Using a plate of wood, a bit of strong glue and cutting the corks lengthways, you can create a nice tablemat or coasters, it is a great insulating surface of the heat and cold! Here, you can see the creative process and two more photos of the final result.First one, it is a tablemat ready to give as a present made with Spanish corks, and other one with Portuguese corks from our trip to Porto, which one was given to my sister-in-law L., and her boyfriend E.,.

He reutilizado unos alambres y una malla de naranjas para proteger mi maceta de esparraguera de los pájaros, de esta forma puede crecer fácilmente en nuestra terraza.



I have reused some wires and an oranges' net to protect my pot of Asparagus Fern of some birds, of this way can grow easily in our terrace.

Postal de Pascua - Easter's card

Este año he recibido varias postales de Pascua, todas preciosas y con mensajes entrañables. Mi favorita es la que me ha hecho Amandine, hija mayor de mi amiga Cécile.  Es algo muy dulce que una niña de siete años tenga este detalle conmigo, ¿verdad? Merci beaucoup, Amandine.

This year, I have received some Easter's cards, all of them beautiful and with touching messages. My favourite one is made from Amandine, the eldest daughter of my friend Cecile. It is really sweet that a girl of seven years ols has had this detail to me, isn't it? Merci beaucoup, Amandine.

He hecho mi Decoración de Pascua reutilizando materiales que tenía en casa, un par de bandejas de poliestireno, unos moldes de papel para magdalenas, una caja de cartón de una docena de huevos y cinta washi tape. He dibujado un huevo en papel, lo he recortado y usado como plantilla cuatro veces en las bandejas de poliestireno. Después los he recortado y decorado con cinta washi. También he escrito con bolígrafo un mensaje para felicitar la Pascua en Poliestireno. Por último, he puesto los huevos en la bandeja de cartón junto con el mensaje y añadido los moldes de magdalenas.

I have done my Easter's Decoration reusing some materials that I had at home, a couple of polystyrene trays, few molds of paper for sponge-cakes, a box of cardboard for a dozen of eggs and some washi tapes. I have drawn an egg in a piece of paper, I have cut away it and used as template four times in the trays of polystyrene. Later I have cut away them and decorated using some washi tape. I have also written with a pen a message to congratulate the Easter time in a piece of Polystyrene. Finally, I have put the eggs in the cardboard tray together with the message and added the molds of sponge-cakes.

Conejito de Pascua - Easter's bunny

He diseñado un conejito de Pascua que sirve de marioneta o para esconder chocolatinas. Primeramente, he dibujado un conejito con papel blanco, lo he recortado y sujetado a un trozo de fieltro con alfileres. He cortado el fieltro y he repetido esta operación dos veces para crear la parte delantera y trasera del conejito. Después he unido las dos piezas cosiendo con hilo naranja como el fieltro todo alrededor excepto en la parte inferior. Por último, he cosido con hilo negro los detalles como los ojos, la nariz, los bigotes y la colita.

I have designed an Easter's bunny which one can be used as puppet or to hide some chocolates. Firstly, I have drawn a bunny in a white paper, I have cut it away and joined it to a chunk of felt with some pins. I have cut the felt and have repeated this operation twice to create the front and back part of bunny. Later, I have joined both pieces sewing with orange thread as the felt everything around except in the lower part. Finally, I have sewed with black thread the details as the eyes, the nose, the moustaches and the tail.

He decorado una tapa que cierra un bote de cristal utilizando cinta washi. Más tarde lo he rellenado de infusión de flores de hibisco procedentes de cultivo ecológico de Kenia. También, he colocado un adhesivo para identificarlo. Es una infusión algo ácida, pero tiene muchas propiedades.

I have decorated a lid which one is used to close a glass container using a bit of washi tape. Later I have refilled it of infusion of hibiscus's flowers from fair trade cultives from Kenya. I have also placed an adhesive to identify it. It is a slightly acid infusion, but it has great properties.

He escrito en cartón blanco usando un rotulador grueso negro, dos etiquetas para identificar mis dos cajas grandes dónde guardo mis bolsos de Invierno y Verano. Las he atado con unas cintas blancas.

I have written on white cardboard and using black felt-tip pen, two tag labels to identify my two big boxes where I keep my Winters and Summer bags. I have tied them with a white ribbon.
